The electrochemical reactions of dipicolinic acid (pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid, DPA) in acidic and neutral solutions have been studied in order to determine the global electrochemical process. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to investigate its behaviour in aqueous solution and clarify many unknown aspects of the reduction mechanism. A general scheme, in accordance with Laviron's theories, was proposed to explain the DPA electrochemical pathway, and the thermodynamic adsorption constant, Kads, was evaluated.

Abstract
The electrochemical reactions of dipicolinic acid (pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid, DPA) in acidic and neutral solutions have been studied in order to determine the global electrochemical process. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to investigate its behaviour in aqueous solution and clarify many unknown aspects of the reduction mechanism. A general scheme, in accordance with Laviron's theories, was proposed to explain the DPA electrochemical pathway, and the thermodynamic adsorption constant, Kads, was evaluated.File in questo prodotto:
