Abstract
The text is a theoretical reflection about the role of representation in the history of architecture. Infact history does not concern the traditional need of architecture to present itself as shelter so much as represent it. It is, in fact, within the history of architecture as the representation of itself, that the exploration of the ultimate sense of firmitas develops as the true foundation of all venustas. For this reason architects have progressively identified representation as a specific territory in which to investigate the significance of their ancient discipline. By consecrating its autonomy, they opened up the conceptual space of modernity, and by freeing themselves from the practice of construction they are able to break down and rethink the principles, themes and objectives of architecture.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
