Migrazioni, sfruttamento e accesso ai diritti nelle campagne toscane: una prospettiva femminista, decoloniale e intersezionale

This article examines migrant women’s exploitation in three selected Tuscan rural districts through decolonial, feminist, and intersectional lenses, advocating for universal access to fundamental rights, especially for vulnerable farmworkers. The study first deconstructs dominant narratives, then maps Italian migrant women’s precarity, analyzing how gender, race, migration status, and class inequalities intersect to create complex forms of vulnerability. After highlighting systemic exploitation risks in Tuscan agriculture, it uses ethnographic methods in order to document abusive recruitment, hazardous work/living conditions, and gender-based violence. Based on those results, the article proposes proactive counter-strategies to combat exploitation, protection mechanisms for victims, and systemic prevention measures, all rooted in intersectional feminism and migrant women’s agency.
