The essay aims to analyze Eugenio Di Carlo’s lecture at the inauguration of the academic year 1922-1923. There Di Carlo went back to a theme he had already addressed in his previous years and to which he would return in the following years, even when far from Camerino. The theme, which is central not only to the philosophy of law and political philosophy, but of far-reaching interdisciplinary scope, is the relationship between force and law. Other authors, in that tragic turn of years, explored the same issues. Two above all: Carl Schmitt and Walter Benjamin, with whose thought Di Carlo’s prolusion interacts in this contribution.

Abstract
The essay aims to analyze Eugenio Di Carlo’s lecture at the inauguration of the academic year 1922-1923. There Di Carlo went back to a theme he had already addressed in his previous years and to which he would return in the following years, even when far from Camerino. The theme, which is central not only to the philosophy of law and political philosophy, but of far-reaching interdisciplinary scope, is the relationship between force and law. Other authors, in that tragic turn of years, explored the same issues. Two above all: Carl Schmitt and Walter Benjamin, with whose thought Di Carlo’s prolusion interacts in this contribution.File in questo prodotto:
