Sea level rise is one of the effects of climate change. Regardless the desired reduction of global carbon emissions, it is estimated that by 2050 sea levels will rise by 30 cm. In Italy, along the Adriatic coast, the Sentina Regional Nature Reserve is considered one of the most threatened areas by sea level rise. In the north of the mouth of the Tronto River the Sentina area, covering 180 hectares, is a landscape of water and sand, a wetland and agricultural area at the same time, a reserve that hosts a rich and peculiar flora and fauna, an exceptional place within the urbanized territory. The workshop will operate within this thematic framework and will lead to the landscape enhancement of the nature reserve through the design of 3 theme parks: Agro Park, Host Park e Eco Park. Mitigation infrastructure against sea level rise as well as paths and micro-architectures for the practice of experiential tourism will be the subject of design experimentation.
