How much nutrition can impact human health during different life stages? NuGOweek2023 will answer this question through six topics debated in separate sessions. The first is about “early biomarkers of disease”, where Alessio Fasano and Trudy Voortman will give an overview on adequate nutrition and its relationship with complex diseases. The second topic will examine novel aspects concerning “nutrition along life: learning from the exposome”; here the interplay between nutrition and gut-brain axis as well as multi-omics responses to nutrition will be examined by David Vauzour and Marian Beekman. During the third session, “tools to trace the impact of nutrition and lifestyle on health”, Sarah Berry and Stine Ulven will describe how personalized nutrition impacts health and the contribute of omics to trace the role of dietary fats on CVD. The fourth topic, strategies to “rejuvenate” organs, will provide new inside strategies to measure and predict biological age with the lectures of Ferdinand von Meyenn and Anna Krook. The fifth session, “nutrigenomics in the control of low-grade inflammation”, will outline the molecular mechanisms that modulate pro and anti-inflammatory responses to food intake thanks to the speech of Frank B Hu. Finally, Alice H Lichtenstein, David Llewellyn and Irene G Van Valkengoed will describe how education, financial status and gender can influence human health during the sixth and last session.
