Abstract

A most recent research of the important Tourism Industry Association – T.I.A. – promoted also by the important magazine “National Geographic Traveler”, claims that the geotourism describe the evolution of the best known “sustainable tourism” in the latter we notice all the distinctive features with some more cares: that is a sustainable tourism who acts for preventing harm of mass movement in the ecologic environment the geouturism therefore forms knowledge instrument and the valuation of land based on binding principles of sustainable environment and that district of Ascoli Piceno intends to support in several areas in its territory. One of them concerns the district of Monte dell’Ascensione (at the beginning it was called Monte Nero, then Monte Polesio e later Monte dell’Ascensione) it represents by sub-aree that for their particular conformation and its geologic history, they are in associated with several geosites most important in scientific didactic concept other than the one aesthetic means and in tourism they can exercise more influence. It is in the southern part it in the district of Ascoli Piceno, situated between “Tronto” river and the “Tesino” torrent, for its considerable scientific particularity, many geologic studies were made about it, because it regards very important to comprehend the geologic evolution plio-quaternaria area of the middle part of Adriatic sea in Italy. In addition to the scientific importance in tits area there are many other peculiarity, geomorphologic and naturalistic type that consent to consider that area more interesting, not only for its scientific and didactic value for various field of earth sciences but also for landscaping and esthetic, so it is generally impossible to find in a outlines area. In tits instance the use of G.I.S. (Geographic Information System) needs to the installation of a net of a panoramic itinerary and a rest stop who allow a best usability of territorial peculiarity with the due respect of principles and the aims of sustainable tourism appeal by the new type of geotourism. The application of methodology G.I.S. to the new proposal of geotourism means a fundamental importance for the valorization of landscape and of its geologic peculiarity and geomorphologic that district of Ascoli Piceno intend to execute both in front of pianification territorial and tourist projects. The implementation of the project must push through data gathering who consent to analyse the environmental the normative frame and infrastructural presence and landscape in the provincial territory the aim is to act a pianification oriented to the fruition of geosites for their complexion culturallandscaping, didactic-recreational centre and mainly to get the sensibility and the respect for scientific knowledge of the territory.
