The authors, after a rapid digression on the evo- lution of the river monitoring techniques, effected a compa- rative analysis of the results which become evident through application of Extended Biotic Index, Law 152/99 and Fluvial Functional Index to River Tenna (Marche Region). The comparative analysis has been conducted keeping in mind the different conceptual and methodological approach that characterize the methods. Particulary attention has been paid to the Fluvial Functional Index (I.F.F.). The aim of this monitoring system, recently proposed, is to evaluate the overall condition of the fluvial environment and its functional capacity, through the integration of the biotic and abiotic factors of the aquatic ecosystem with the terre- strial system connected to it. The results show a good agree- ment.

Abstract
The results show a good agree- ment.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
