Recent seismic events have affected the Apennine area of Central Italy, a territory of high environmental quality where human activity takes the form of small settlements of ancient formation located in strategic positions. Unlike the coastal area, the Apennine area has not undergone major changes and has preserved its identity, associated with the establishment of urban centers generally dating from the Middle Ages and in some cases the Roman age. The recent earthquake devastated this territory, wiping out entire villages or making large parts of the buildings uninhabitable. The workshop will focus on Arquata del Tronto. The reconstruction will have to act within a strategic vision that aims first of all at the economic recovery of the areas affected by the earthquake. By leveraging environmental resources and investing in the recovery of cultural resources, these territories can strengthen their tourist vocation compatible with the housing practices of their residents. The workshop will focus on the theme of hospitality spaces in Arquata del Tronto.
