COAST2COAST 13: Back to the sea

This experimental project is going to take place in the city of Civitanova Marche, a segment of the coastal urbanization that distinguishes the Italian eastern side. The focus will be on a huge empty area inside the already designed “fishing village”: Piazza XX Settembre was built on what it used to be an old dock in front of a XV century fortress erected as a defense from pirate raids. The recent building’s demolition, which was used for the former fair, expands the empty space offering an opportunity to redesign this important public space reinterpreting the relationship between the city and the sea.
