L’Osservatorio della Ricerca nell’ICAR/18: note metodologiche

This is a survey of literature on the history of architecture by Italian professors/researchers over the years 2014-16, with emphasis on synthetic accounts and published papers with innovative, cross-disciplinary approaches. This reading and analysis of issues at the center of current research on the history of architecture in the various fields and departments of Italian universities is offered in the belief that the study of the history of architecture, both in general and in specific cases, is informed by shared knowledge and attitudes about architecture shaped by current experience as well as disciplinary ideas. The working group engaged in this activity, started the investigations at the end of 2017, analyzing the scientific production, registered in the Institutional Research Information System (IRIS), of the 200 Italian professors/researchers in the SSD (Scientific disciplinary sector) ICAR/18, serving on 31 December 2016. The three-year reference period is 2014-2016, between the second Research Quality Assessment (2011-2014) and third (2015-2019), and between the first round of National Scientific Qualification (2012-2013) and second (2016-2018).
