Goal. Supporting and promotion of fundamental, interdisciplinary and/or exploratory scientific research in Romania. The Programme addresses to researchers with scientific achievements proved through the quality and international recognition of their scientific publications, including to those who work abroad (Romanian citizens or foreigners) and who want to run research projects of a high scientific level in Romanian institutions. Objectives. - affirming the prestige of Romanian scientific research, quantified by scientific results of an international level; - identifying, supporting and developing of research teams in order to allow them to reach, to maintain and to consolidate the critical mass necessary to their competitivity on an international level; - attracting the quality national and international human resources for the development of scientific research in Romania; - implementing of the the “the funds go with the performance” principle in research. Estimated results. By funding this type of project we take into account the following aspects: - the obtaining of some excellent scientific results reflected in an increase of the number of publications with a high international impact, as well as in an increase of the number of patented inventions, applied in the economy; - the increasing of the research capacity, including through the increase in the number of full-time researchers, encouraging their training in a medium of high scientific quality; - the attracting and and the involvement of the researchers working abroad in projects with an impact on the international visibility of Romanian scientific research; - the increasing of the capacity to successfully apply for European and international research funds tools.
