This report concerns the data obtained from 12543 cervical cytologies. The findings about the distribution of infectious, dysplastic and neoplastic lesions are pointed out. The role of cytology of these cervix for early prevention, diagnosis and therapy of these lesions, such as the importance of programs of health education and screening strategies are discussed.
