Rabdomiosarcoma primitivo cardiaco in un cane. Rilievi anatomo-istopatologici ed immunocitochimici.

Primary cardiac tumour arising from the myofibral compartment especially rhabdomyosarcoma is extremelly rare also in the dog, as reviewed bibliography suggests. Our case was referred to a male, Kurzhaar dog, 5 year aged, suddendeath. Gross leasion were not detectable at the various organ except the heart. At the external examination, the heart showed whitish swelling of the right ventricular wall. From the apex to the base of the heart coronal cut points out the presence of whitish-gray tissue more evindent in the septum that is evenly involved. Histologically the tumour consisted both of the oval-shaped cells with scanty cytoplasm both triangular cells with abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm. Neoplastic cells infiltrated the myofibers that were disrupted. Mitotic figures were easily found. Immunohistochemestry pointed out the positiveness for desmin antigen that was more expressed in the lung metastasis.
