Total serum activities of CK and LDH and their isoenzymes in 15 clinically healthy thoroughbreds were compared to those of 6 thoroughbreds with mild exertional myopathy. At the first blood collection in horses with myopathy, elevations in total CK and LDH activities and BB, MB and LDH5 isoenzymes were recorded, the percentage of MM, LDH2 and LDH3 isoenzymes were, instead, decreased. At the third blood collection all the isoenzymes returned to normal values. Changes in serum isoenzymes seem to be in accordance to clinical findings.
