A study on mixed deciduous coppice of the submediterranean hilly belt of eastern-central Italy was carried out The aim was to verify the phases determining the spatial and temporal sequence of the involved dynamical and ecological processes. Six regeneration phases have been hypothesized. On 6 permanent areas all the stems taller than 2 m have been mapped in a grid of 800sqm, measured and assessed as standards, stumps and shoots, diameter, height and species.
