The amino acid sequence of the pheromone Er-22 of Euplotesraikovi has been determined on the basis of the cloned nucleotide sequence of its coding gene. The knowledge of this new sequence has emphasized the significance of a structural comparison between pheromones secreted by two selected groups of mating-incompatible strains . This comparison has provided evidence that pheromones from the two groups of strains substantially differ in the length of an extended inter-cysteine segment involved in the construction of framework elements of the pheromone architecture.

Abstract
The amino acid sequence of the pheromone Er-22 of Euplotesraikovi has been determined on the basis of the cloned nucleotide sequence of its coding gene. The knowledge of this new sequence has emphasized the significance of a structural comparison between pheromones secreted by two selected groups of mating-incompatible strains . This comparison has provided evidence that pheromones from the two groups of strains substantially differ in the length of an extended inter-cysteine segment involved in the construction of framework elements of the pheromone architecture.File in questo prodotto:
