The duplex-ultrasonographic evaluation of the blood fiow of the common carotid artery was carried out on a group of 22 alpacas (Lama pacos). The animals, considered for the study, were characterized by different breed, age, sex, and build. Direct clinical examination was carried out on every alpaca, before the ultrasonographic evaluation, not only to exclude alterations of the cardiovascular apparatus, but also of other apparatuses. Then Pulsed Wave Doppler and Color-Doppler evaluations were performed to calculate some blood flow parameters, their middle value and standard deviation.
