Most of the selenium is in the erythrocytes as a component of GSHpX. The aim of this study was to evluate the effect of the bree (Comisana vs Merinizzata) and the mountain pasture on the erythrocyte GSHpX activity in ewes. Significant changes have been observed during the different period, suggesting that dietary change and the physiological condition may influence the selenium status, while the effect of breed resulted not significant.
