The research, starting from the investigation of the defense structures located along the Adriatic coast of the Marche Region analyzes the changes that have characterized the marine landscapes over the centuries and focuses on the trasformation of Fiumesimo castle, that from a defensive structure of medieval layout is transformed into an imposing noble residence in eclectic style, today within a highly anthropized context. The aim is to analyse the transformation of the castle and its historical geographical context. In addition, a constructive check of the complex is carried out, both, for the identification of a reuse strategies and a valorisation of the coastal landscape, surrounding the castle and which today appears in a particularly advanced state of physical and social degradation.
