The contribution explores the potential fate of minor "waterworks" that are abandoned or underutilized, with a particular focus on rural washhouses and fountains. These structures, due to their simple typology, lack of decoration, use of basic materials, and location, face greater conservation challenges and are consequently at a high risk of loss. The possibility of a holistic approach to valorizing these artifacts is investigated, aiming to imbue them with new meanings and integrate them into renewed usage circuits that can counteract the degradation process and assist public administrations in managing this heritage. The text proposes moving beyond purely conservation-focused restoration strategies in favor of an integrated vision. It examines the case of Monsampolo del Tronto (Ascoli Piceno, Marche) and the idea of cultural itineraries capable of connecting and relating these dispersed artifacts throughout the territory, with the goal of returning this fragile heritage to local communities.

Abstract
It examines the case of Monsampolo del Tronto (Ascoli Piceno, Marche) and the idea of cultural itineraries capable of connecting and relating these dispersed artifacts throughout the territory, with the goal of returning this fragile heritage to local communities.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
