Abstract
The analysis of objects and artefacts of historical and cultural interest usually requires the use of various analytichal method and techniques. Transmission Electron Mycroscopy (TEM) is proposed as an investigation tecquinique which may be useful in achieving this goal. The advantages and limitations of TEM are discussed and compared with those of other powerful analythical techniques. In addition, some examples of applications in the field of Cultural Heritage are reported. Finally, a morphological and structural analysis of a historical sheet of paper is presented.
