The present invention refers to a process for coating an electrode, said process comprising the steps of providing a solid electrode, and sputtering a material over the surface of said solid electrode at a pressure between 5x10-1 and 5x10-4 mbar. Moreover, the present invention refers to a coated solid electrode obtainable by the process as defined above, to a lithium-ion battery comprising said coated solid electrode and to the use of said coated solid electrode in lithium-ion batteries.

Abstract
