IMMAGINI? Image and Imagination Between Representation, communication, Education and Psychology

On 27 and 28 November 2017, the Faculty of Education of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano held in Brixen-Bressanone the international and interdisciplinary conference IMMAGINI? Image and imagination between representation, communication, education and psychology. More than 300 authors from 15 different countries on 5 continents sent about 220 abstracts in response to the call for paper of the first edition of the conference, published in March of the same year. About 160 of these abstracts were selected through double blind peer review (abstract/full paper) and about half of them were presented during the two days at Brixen-Bressanone, each of which has been opened by a plenary sessions of keynote speech given by international key- note speakers (from Italy, Europe, Australia, and United States) among which one may mention, in particular, the lectio magistralis given by James Elkins, one of the world’s greatest art historians and image theorists. The closing of the conference was instead entrusted to Oliviero Toscani who gave a talk outside the scientific program.
