There was evidence that nutritional interventions in school-age children in European Union (EU) countries had a positive impact on dietary behavior [1]. The nutritional surveillance in Italy is under the control of Minister of Health and it’s mainly focused on the evaluation of food habits and lifestyles of the population at different ages (8-9 y.o.; 13-14 y.o.; 18-65 y.o.; >65 y.o.). It’s well known that in the school aged, students can increase their knowledge and they are open mind enough to modify their approach with food. In the new Italian food pyramid it’s possible to find some novel foods that should be utilized daily due to their beneficial effects on health status, such as nuts and oilseeds. Unfortunately, this kind of food are rarely used or totally unknown.

It’s well known that in the school aged, students can increase their knowledge and they are open mind enough to modify their approach with food. In the new Italian food pyramid it’s possible to find some novel foods that should be utilized daily due to their beneficial effects on health status, such as nuts and oilseeds.
