Since several years, the importance of Information and Communication Technologies has been well recognized by public and private organizations all around the world. However, its fully adoption, that is possible in almost every sector of economic and social activities, remains a big challenge. In Europe, Member States put digital transformation in the middle of the political agenda. In this paper we intend to review and discuss the progress of the Italian and Albanian digital economies. With the aim of advertise digital transformation best practices, we also present project experiences concerning the impact of Information and Communication Technologies on Public Administration and Small and Medium Enterprise.
