Ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) is an ultrasound diagnostic method recently introduced in veterinary ophthalmology. The UBM, because of high frequency (48-50 Mhz) transducer, allows a detailed view of the structures of anterior chamber, especially the irido-corneal angle. In this thesis, UBM assessment was performed in anterior chamber of feline healthy eyes. The main purpose of the study was to identify the normal parameters as a potential comparison for diagnosis of diseases. The pathology that has the greatest indication for the execution of UBM is the primary open angle glaucoma (POAG).

Abstract
Ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) is an ultrasound diagnostic method recently introduced in veterinary ophthalmology. The UBM, because of high frequency (48-50 Mhz) transducer, allows a detailed view of the structures of anterior chamber, especially the irido-corneal angle. In this thesis, UBM assessment was performed in anterior chamber of feline healthy eyes. The main purpose of the study was to identify the normal parameters as a potential comparison for diagnosis of diseases. The pathology that has the greatest indication for the execution of UBM is the primary open angle glaucoma (POAG).File in questo prodotto:
