histological and histochemical findings of generalized amyloidosis observed in five goats ranging from the ages of 2 to 5 years are described. The goats were affected by caprine arthritis-encephalitis syndrome ascertained by virological, TEM and anatomo-histopathological observations. Histological examinations revealed that amyloid deposition in spleen and kidney was always present. The liver, lymphnodes, adrenal grands and mesenchimal synovial structures were decreasingly affected. Furthermorer, the histochemical characteristics of amyloid substance with regard to the presence of proteins and carbohydrates are pointed out. On the basis of histochemical invastigations, the Authors identify the amyloid as secondary or AA-amyloid.

Abstract
histological and histochemical findings of generalized amyloidosis observed in five goats ranging from the ages of 2 to 5 years are described. On the basis of histochemical invastigations, the Authors identify the amyloid as secondary or AA-amyloid.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
