Il ruolo dell’innovazione tecnologica

In this contribution the debate on the role played by technological change in the long-term development of the Italian economy is analyzed and discussed along three key themes: the root, extent and nature of the economic backwardness of Italian productive structure; the dual structure of the Italian production system; the consequences of the rapid integration of Italian economy in the world market. The essay clearly show that these themes have never been abandoned and systematically re-emerge - especially during periods of economic crisis - as powerful explanatory factors behind the structural fragility of the Italian economy
