In 1932, Mario Ridolfi with his friend and colleague Mario Fagiolo participated to the competition for the construction of the new Town Hall of Pesaro. Openly inspired by Modernist thoughts, their project radically detached from the more conventional approach of the other 54 competitors, whose designs better adapted to fascist demands for reassuring classical and monumental lines. Although the pair's proposed building is not considered an architectural masterpiece, the beautifully crafted drawings by Ridolfi (herewith enclosed) not only reveal his wide interest in that historical period, but are evidence of some of the concepts that characterised his later work.

Abstract
In 1932, Mario Ridolfi with his friend and colleague Mario Fagiolo participated to the competition for the construction of the new Town Hall of Pesaro. Openly inspired by Modernist thoughts, their project radically detached from the more conventional approach of the other 54 competitors, whose designs better adapted to fascist demands for reassuring classical and monumental lines. Although the pair's proposed building is not considered an architectural masterpiece, the beautifully crafted drawings by Ridolfi (herewith enclosed) not only reveal his wide interest in that historical period, but are evidence of some of the concepts that characterised his later work.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
