An integrated study of the production area of the Verdicchio di Matelica DOC allowed to characterize all the main typical environmental factors (geomorphology, soils, hydrogeology, climate, vegetation and landscape). This was aimed both at conservation of the existing environment and at planning future optimal developments pf vineyards basing on a specific zonation.
