This is the first record of Fissidens curvatus for two areas in the Umbria region.These investigations focused on a system of Mediterranean temporary ponds categorised as a priority habitat under the EU Directive 92/43/EEC and listed in Annex I with the code 3170* ‘Mediterranean temporary ponds.’ The research was carried out during a study of the bryophyte component started in 2015 . The locality for the first collection, from ‘Parco Fluviale del Nera’, is in a Special Area of Conservation (SAC IT5220017) and a Special Protection Area (SAC IT5220025) of the Natura 2000 EU-wide network due to the presence of the EU Directive 92/43/EEC Annex I priority Habitat 7220* ‘Petrifying springs with tufa formation (Cratoneurion)’.
