Abstract

Since the beginning of the twentieth century, the architecture of the “factory” has gradually changed, also thanks to the development of industrial production’s trials and techniques. From Peter Behrens’s “AEG-Turbinenhalle” (1910), the first “modern factory”, up to the most recent and complex projects of modern architecture’s masters (Grimshaw, Nouvel, Piano) the last century has seen the industrial building like a privileged place for expression and experimentation.
