Abstract

Concurrent synchronization of neural networks coupled via an excitatory-only protocol is addressed using contraction theory. Under certain conditions guaranteeing the existence of a flow-invariant subspace, coupling functions are designed so that both heterogeneous neural networks coupled via an excitatory-only protocol, and networks of nodes communicating over different media interconnected with an excitatory-only method spontaneously synchronize. Applications to networks of Fitzhugh-Nagumo oscillators illustrate how to deal with the proposed architecture in practice. © 2016 EUCA.
