This study intends to analyze the potentiality of the use of Vacuum Insulation Panels (VIP) in office buildings located in middle latitudes. Static and dynamic thermal performance of some external walls with VIP, and thermo-dynamic simulations of a virtual test-room (located in 3 diff erent Italian cities), have demonstrated that external walls with VIP (even with a low superfi cial mass) can determine an annual energy saving: not only in wintertime but also in summertime.
