The project of the Ecological Network of Marche region (R.E.M.) done for conservation of biodiversity of the regional territory is showed. SIC and ZPS of Natura 2000 network constitute the principal structure of the regional network and their monitoring was carried out through a specific methodological program. The proposed diagram has a complex structure in order to enable the maximum integration of biological (flora, vegetation, fauna) and physical (geomorphology, climate) data. All the data obtained from cartographic surveys and from other researches carried out in the field have been included in the Territorial Information System (SIT). The creation of the SIT was possible thanks to the construction of a relational database that allows the access to the analytic data and to the cartographic elaborations. It is emphasized the usefulness of the used methodology to learn in depth the biodiversity of a territory, to monitoring it in different period and to achieve management and planning choices.
