A survey delevoped to assess the health effects of natural catastrophes was carried out with Molise residents of areas affected by the earthquake of 2002. Using an anonymous questionnaire, residents were surveyed on theyr psycho-physical health and well-being. Approximately 3,000 questionnaires were distributed, with a 71% response rate. Results show that the psycho-physical health of the population was affected, above all by the presence of psycho-traumatic problems.
